WHAT'S NEW IN 2023-24 SOFTWARE

Roles and Permissions  
Has replaced the Security Templates for 2023.  You can control what each of your preparers are allowed to do by assigning them a Role. Roles are configured in the Roles & Permissions menu under the Configuration menu. Each Role has nearly five dozen permissions you can set, giving you the flexibility to create multiple Roles that can be easily changed and assigned as needed. See here for more information.

Payments and Estimates
New help feature accessed via the question mark icon displays articles to assist with each payment type. 

Form 8962 Shared policy allocation
Part IV and Part V for allocation and Alternative Calculation for year of marriage. This option will now be available for taxpayers with shared health insurance policies. 

Form 3468 Investment credit
This form has been added to the program to to claim the investment credit.

Form 461 Limitation on Business Losses
is now available to figure the excess business loss that is reported on your noncorporate tax return.

Form 6765 Credit for Increasing Research Activities
New to ProWeb this form is used to figure and claim the credit for increasing research activities.

Form 8801 Prior Year Minimum Tax Credit
This form is now available in ProWeb to calculate the minimum tax credit, if any, for alternative minimum tax (AMT) incurred in prior tax years and to calculate any credit carryforward.

Form 8824
Like Kind exchange transactions can now be entered and edited in ProWeb. 

Form 8834 Qualified Electric Vehicle Credit
New to ProWeb, this form can be used to claim any qualified electric vehicle passive activity credits allowed for the current tax year

 

Form 8857 Innocent Spouse 
Form 8379 is now available in ProWeb for taxpayers who files a joint return and all or part of the portion of the joint over-payment (refund) is being, or is expected to be, applied against a legally enforceable past obligation of the other spouse.

 

Form 8938 Statement of Specified Foreign Financial Assets
Form 8938 is now available in ProWeb to report specified foreign financial assets if the total value of all the specified foreign financial assets in which the taxpayer has an interest is more than the appropriate reporting threshold.
 
Customer Portal
The customer portal features a new indicator to alert the taxpayer when messages or documents are sent by the preparer. 

Client list for Portal
ProWeb now features a new client list for Customer Portal Clients on the Welcome page. 

State localities
ProWeb has a simplified the process for State Localities, they will flow similar to Federal and State return types and will display within the E-file Process.
