2023 E-FILE START DATE - JANUARY 23 & HUB TESTING - JANUARY 17
The Internal Revenue Service today announced Monday, January 23, 2023, as the beginning of the nation's 2023 tax season when the agency will begin accepting and processing 2022 tax year returns.

The HUB Testing will begin Tuesday, January 17, 2023 During this time, we will begin sending batches of tax returns to the IRS for processing. You may begin to receive IRS acknowledgments as early as Tuesday, January 17th. Please be aware that any transmitted returns will be sent to the IRS for processing. Due to MeF (Modernized e-File), once you transmit a return, the return cannot be deleted from the servers. If you need to make a change on a return that is e-filed, you will need to amend the return.
*Please Note**- HUB Testing will start slowly... The IRS tests one transmitter at a time. Acks will likely be slow.
- Volume and speed will pick up each day. Testing is usually over each day by 3pm est.
- There is a possibility returns receive false rejects during this period.
- Due to MeF (Modernized e-File), once you transmit a return, the return cannot be deleted from the servers.
- If you need to make a change on a return that is e-filed, you will need to mail an amended return.

GEORGIA STATE RETURNS - DELAYED START OF E-FILE (01/29/2024)
The e-file start date for GA state returns has been delayed to February 2nd. Any GA returns transmitted before Feb. 2nd will not receive an acknowledgement until after they open the filing season on February 2nd.
